Each B.C. required course contains 4 credits, students must have 80 credits to graduate. All courses are categorized as follows:

Required courses: 44 credits
Elective courses: 28 credits
Planning courses: 8 credits

For Math 10 and English 12, there are regular B.C. provincial exams, whose results account for 20% and 40% of the entire course score respectively.

A minimum of 92 credits are recommended for students who aim for access to top-class universities.

Option A: Secondary School Regular Course

  • From a registered independent school that provides regular graduation programs of secondary school, students will have the high school diploma once they reach the requirement of graduation.
  • The accredited summer school, which incorporates a short-term course and learning tours across universities, provides additional credits for students.
  • Applicable for Chinese students in Grade 9.
  • In order to facilitate the learning process and accelerate the time for graduation, our chool operates on a semester system, which includes four terms a year

Option B: Tutoring and lectures

Refund Policy

In the event that an applicant cannot come to Canada or is withdrawn from Maple Hill School, the following refund policy will apply.  All requests for a refund must be made in writing with the Refund Request Form and other relevant documents attached. Students who request to withdraw from MHS school must fill out the School Withdrawal Form for refund, in addition to the Refund Request Form. All documents must be presented to the school to process the refund.
A full refund, barring the application fee and administration fee of CAD $300, is available if a study permit is not approved by Immigration Canada.  (Students must include the letter of rejection from the Canadian Embassy.)
For all semesters, barring the $200 non-refundable application fee and a full refund of the $700 deposit, two thirds (2/3) of all other fees pre-paid to the school will be refunded if the student withdraws prior to the commencement of the program.
For long semesters (Fall/Winter), barring the $200 non-refundable application fee and a full refund of the $700 deposit,  one half (1/2) of all other fees pre-paid to the school will be refunded if the student withdraws any time between commencement and the end of the first calendar month of the program.
For long semesters (Fall/Winter), except a full refund of the $700 deposit, NO refund of any other fees is available if the student withdraws after the first calendar month of the program.
For short semesters (Spring/Summer), except a full refund of the $700 deposit, NO refund of any other fees is available if the student withdraws after the commencement of the program.
No refund of the tuition fee is available if the student has requested and received a Letter of Acceptance from the school, unless a valid Visa Rejection Letter is provided.
 No refund of the tuition fee is available if the student is found to be in violation of school rules or the participation agreement on the application form.  Students who become local students after tuition fees are paid will not be eligible for refunds other than as stated in the refund policy above.
In case of sudden closure of school, all tuition fees and deposits will be reimbursed to students.

*Maple Hill School is bonded with the Ministry of Education as of August 2019. In accordance with Section 8 of the INDEPENDENT SCHOOL REGULATION [en. B.C. Reg. 260/93 ; am BC Reg 172/12, effective June 25/12 ; en BC Reg 221/16, effective Sept 20/16], Maple Hill School Inc. has posted a $860,000 bond, completed by an auditor qualified under Section 205 of the Business Corporations Act, as a financial guarantee for tuition paid by families for an educational program.
