PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

To the Maple Hill School Community:

Welcome to the February edition of our school newsletter! As the month of love approaches, we wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for each and every member of our community. Your dedication and commitment to our students, families, and staff are truly remarkable.

In this edition, you will find updates on student of the month, our Maple Hill School Dollar winner and what you can expect in Mr. Bardell’s classes for this new semester. We also would like to celebrate the students who took part in the Canadian Senior Mathematics contest.
February also brings a new beginning as our new semester has just started and we have some new students at school. I hope you have been received warmly by our staff and students.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Our goal is to ensure that every member of our community feels supported, engaged, and valued.

Warm regards,

Eric Di Nozzi
Principal

This semester in Physical Health and Education students will be learning how to grow into health and happy adults. For Foundations Math and Precalculus 10, students will be making connections between the language of Maths and the real world, in particular, exploring the idea of whether Maths is invented or discovered. Life Science 11 will be exploring the diversity of life and the mechanisms through which this develops on an evolutionary timescale. Social Studies 10 students will be learning how the modern world works and their place in it. In Physics 11 the students will be discovering how the process of science discovers and describes the fundamental laws of reality. c

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Lareina Hou

Lareina is the student of the month for January. She did a fantastic month finishing off her classes strong by doing really well in her final examinations. Great job Lareina!

MAPLE HILL SCHOOL DOLLAR WINNER

With the end of the semester, I would like to point out the student with the most money deposited across the semester. The student who deposited the most money for the semester was Yuki Yang with $75 deposited since September 2022. Great job Yuki. Students can use money that they did not use over into the next semester. Keep on working hard and earn more dollars.
