On September 27, 2024 Maple Hill School participated in the Terry Fox Run to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research. Terry Fox runs are held around the world to honour the memory of Terry Fox, a local man, who attempted to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. Terry lost his leg to cancer and was unable to finish his Marathon of Hope as he ultimately succumbed to the disease. The school went to Minoru to walk or run around the track there. Students who were able to keep pace or beat the principal were given a pizza lunch to acknowledge their commitment.
